Blue Competition Cycles Sponsors Heather and Trevor Wurtele

Updated 8.21.08

WurteleBlue Competition Cycles announced they are sponsoring the Canadian husband and wife triathlon team of Heather and Trevor Wurtele. Heather made a big splash on June 22, 2008 when she came from relative obscurity to dominate the Ford Ironman Coeur d'Alene with a winning margin of more than 11 minutes and taking the fastest bike split by more than 10 minutes. On the same day, Trevor Wurtele placed second at Lifesport Victoria International Half Iron. In 2007, he placed first in the 25-29 age group at the 2007 Ironman Canada. Heather turned professional in 2007 and Trevor in 2008.

"We are very pleased to sponsor Trevor and Heather as they continue what can only be described as an incredible first year as professionals," said Chance Regina of Blue Competition Cycles. "As amazing as Heather's bike split at Coeur d'Alene was, we know she'll ride even faster at the Hawaii Ironman on our new full carbon multisport bike, the Triad™. We have Heather and Trevor working in the A2 wind tunnel to optimize their riding positions", Regina concluded.

Triad 2009The new Triad bike will also come with something unique: regardless the build, once the bike is registered for warranty, Blue will send the buyer a certificate for one free hour of wind tunnel adjustment at the A2 Wind Tunnel, in Mooresville, North Carolina. For those that don't know, The A2 Wind Tunnel is a growing tunnel, which is a spinoff tunnel next to its big brother, the famed Aerodyne tunnel, which is rented out for the next year and a half and running 24/7 testing NASCAR cars and trucks.

CycleMetrix Now Carries Argon18

Updated 8.26.08

Argon18 E-114 CycleMetrix now carries the Argon18 Element-114 and Element-112.

Originally, the Element-114 design project was undertaken for the purpose of creating a new time-trial/triathlon frameset for Argon 18 pro athletes. As testing and prototype development progressed, they accumulated such a wealth of data and usable ideas that we ended up with not one but two framesets, the second being the E-112, molded in the same molds that shape the E-114 and an outstandingly stable and aerodynamic frameset in its own right.
